The countdown is on. The clock is ticking. The Trade Deadline is upon us. Teams have until 6 p.m. ET Monday to work out any deals they hope can help them down the stretch this season or in future seasons.
We've already seen one blockbuster -- Tarik Skubal to the Dodgers -- plus some smaller but still-significant moves, such as Freddy Peralta to the Rays and Luis Castillo to the White Sox. But these and other teams still could have trades in the works.

Cubs: The Cubs are looking to buy, and pitching is the priority, starting with a deal for Kevin Gausman on Sunday night. While Chicago is in the market for late-inning bullpen help, adding to the rotation is the No. 1 goal. 6. Kevin Gausman to the Cubs (Aug. 2)
With Cade Horton, Justin Steele, Edward Cabrera and Ben Brown all sidelined and Jameson Taillon pitching poorly enough to get designated for assignment before being dealt to the Blue Jays, the Cubs were in desperate need of a move to bolster their rotation for the stretch run. They accomplished that goal with deals for Gausman and Clay Holmes (see below). In the final year of a five-year, $110 million contract, Gausman has recorded a 4.38 ERA this season, but he was the top playoff starter for a Toronto club that nearly won the World Series last season.

8. Clay Holmes, Tyrone Taylor to the Cubs (Aug. 3)
Less than 24 hours after landing Kevin Gausman, the Cubs continued to reinforce their depleted rotation by trading for Holmes. The 33-year-old hasn’t pitched since mid-May due to a fractured fibula, but he declared himself “more than ready to pitch in the big leagues” after throwing 73 pitches in his second rehab start on Sunday. Holmes pitched to a 2.39 ERA through his first nine starts before landing on the IL, and as a groundball specialist, he is set up to thrive while pitching behind an elite infield defense.
Don’t sleep on Taylor, either. The 32-year-old outfielder is a right-handed bat -- a rare commodity these days -- and is hitting .241 with a .794 OPS and 10 home runs this season. He’s been white hot of late, with seven home runs and a 1.285 OPS since July 1.
